27th June Bishops Stortford Carnival/ 28th June Armed Forces Day Wing Parade at Highlands House Chelmsford
Tuesday, 9 June 2009
The Sqn will be out in support of the Bishop’s Stortford Carnival on Saturday 27th June and we need a few volunteers to assist from about 9:30am. The Civilian Committee will be holding a cake stall and tombola on the day so bring you bits up in the next few weeks or along on the day. A simple recipe will be posted here for all those who might need some inspiration! The Wing Parade on the Sunday 28th will be a bit different to the usual set up but parents will be welcome on the day too at Highlands House where there will be lots going on! http://www.chelmsford.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=16477

Squadron Summer Open Evening
On the evening of Thursday 23rd July, to coincide with the annual whole Squadron photograph there will be an open evening for all parents and family members to come along to and see what has been going on in the past few months. As well as the main Squadron photo (for which all personnel should attend), individual or friendship group photographs may be taken with the proceeds of any sales going towards Squadron funds. This will also be the date of the obligatory Civilian Committee Annual General Meeting, with a BBQ for all in the grounds after.

A busy and at times very wet weekend!
Well done to everyone who turned out over the weekend either with your efforts in the Drill Team or to those of you who helped out at the Mayors Civic Service. The next stage of the Drill competition is set to be on the 22nd April which gives a little bit more practice time! Thankfully the weather for gliding on Saturday held out and GIC 2 & 3s were successfully obtained. Labels: Bishops Stortford, Gliding, Mayor
